Quarterly Calendar

Principal Gabe Ontiveros

We have had a very eventful winter. Many athletic programs won 1st or 2nd place in league play, club teams such as Science Olympiad, Mock Trials and Speech Debate competed at high levels and school performances in music and drama were sensational.  At this point in the school year with the 3rd quarter coming to a close, it is time for spring testing season and to start planning for the end of the year.  Testing has already started for our English Language learners and they have worked hard to complete the assessment called the ELPAC by acronym.  Our 10th graders will take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test known as the PSAT 10 on 3/27/18.  This test is a practice test for the SAT/ACT and is an important guidepost of skills and college admission journey.  Juniors will take the state computer based English and math test and Seniors will take the science test via the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) assessments through March and April.  May 7th – 18th students will complete the Advanced Placement (AP) tests depending if your student signed up for one or more of these exams.  Lastly, we will end the year with Finals schedule the last week of school.  Please encourage your student to do his/her best on all these exams and come to school well rested, especially on test days.  See enclosed document for more details.
